GIS Analyst (Kota Kinabalu)

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare maps, figures, and layouts for reports, presentations, and regulatory submissions.
• Conduct spatial analysis and generate thematic maps to support environmental baseline assessments, land use planning, and constraint mapping.
• Compile, digitize, and maintain GIS databases using data from surveys, satellite imagery, and field observations.
• Integrate field data, satellite imagery, and survey inputs into GIS systems for analytical and reporting purposes.
• Ensure all maps and figures meet cartographic standards, accuracy requirements, and authority submission formats.
• Coordinate with project teams for data verification i.e. site coordinates, project boundaries, and environmental features.
• Support the preparation of presentation materials, figures, and layouts for reports, stakeholder consultations, and authority submissions.
• Maintain version control and data integrity for all GIS and CAD files.
• Record and archive project drawings and correspondence related to mapping and spatial data.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Geomatics, GIS, Geography, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply; candidates with 1–2 years of relevant experience in GIS, mapping, or spatial data processing will have an added advantage.
• Proficient in ArcGIS, QGIS, AutoCAD, and related geospatial software.
• Strong understanding of coordinate systems, projections, and spatial data management.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, survey plans, and environmental data.
• Good analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and meet tight deadlines.
• Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia (written and spoken) is required.
