Job Description

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement commercial strategies to drive revenue, margin, and profit growth for retail outlets.
  • Align strategic plans with corporate goals and evolving customer expectations.
  • Lead high-impact campaigns, pricing strategies, and new revenue streams.
  • Manage full P&L for all outlets, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
  • Track key performance metrics and provide regular business insights to the CEO.
  • Ensure profitability through proactive planning and performance reviews.
  • Oversee daily operations, ensuring retail efficiency, SOP compliance, and excellent customer experience.
  • Lead tenancy matters such as lease negotiations, renewals, and landlord relations to optimize cost and continuity.
  • Plan and manage new store openings, including site feasibility, setup, staffing, and launch execution.
  • Drive network expansion strategies, identifying high-potential locations and formats aligned with the brand’s growth vision.
  • Improve backend processes including inventory management and merchandising.
  • Drive marketing initiatives that increase footfall, sales conversion, and long-term customer loyalty.
  • Utilize digital platforms and data insights to shape targeted campaigns and promotional strategies.
  • Ensure a cohesive, customer-focused experience across all retail and online channels.
  • Identify growth opportunities through partnerships, corporate sales, and new offerings.
  • Manage relationships with publishers, sponsors, landlords, and vendors.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity for continuous improvement.
  • Strengthen team structure to ensure clear roles, improved collaboration, and resource alignment.
    • Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and agility.
  • Drive transformation initiatives such as process optimization, data analytics to enhance decision-making and operational efficiency.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Retail, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in retail operations, commercial leadership, and business development, including at least 5 years in a senior cross-border role.
  • Proven track record in driving growth, managing P&L, and developing commercial strategies.
  • Hands-on experience launching and scaling retail outlets is essential.
  • Experience in book publishing or retail merchandising is a strong advantage.
  • Strong skills in analytics, change management, and financial acumen.
  • Effective leader with team building, good communication, negotiation, and execution abilities.
