Our client is an established lifestyle café chain and restaurants in prime urban locations and shopping malls in Malaysia and internationally. They are currently looking for the right candidate to fill the following position.

 AREA MANAGER (Klang Valley Area)

(Taman Mayang,Petaling Jaya, Selangor)

 Job Summary

 Responsible for the overall operations of all outlets under area. This includes outlet performance, sales and profitability, quality control, customer service, standards compliance, people development and staffing

Responsibilities

 1. Brand Building, Planning and Monitoring:

  • Responsible and accountable to the operational standards and excellence for all assigned café area outlets - timely visitation, audits and communication to ensure standard. 
  • Work with Café Manager, Supervisor and the team in ensuring the S.O.P. guidelines are implemented based on the company requirements and Operation Resolution and G & O. 
  • Develops and drives company operational initiatives and works to ensure that the efforts are communicated and implemented at all levels. 
  • Responsible for analyzing, studying market trends, buyer behavior and recommend appropriate plan in line with brand’s needs and direction. 
  • Monitor and ensure the conduct of various operational and compliance audits across area outlets meet the company Standard Operation Procedures, guidelines, other policy guidelines established by the company and the relevant regulatory requirements. 
  • Set forthcoming monthly targets for sales turnover, food cost, labor cost, operating expenses and monitor closely to ensure the target are met. 
  • Analyze past financial results, sales profit to spot trends and opportunities and threats to recommend and act with appropriate interventions. 
  • Holding Café Manager and Supervisor accountable towards action plans, Operation Resolution, Goal & Objective. Corrective actions taken from operation feedback, audits and visitations to ensure smooth operation flow, in line with the management, quality, service culture and meet standard set. Follow up and monitoring to ensure that it is carried out in a timely manner. 
  • Responsible for identifying, evaluating and recommending prospective market, Additional or less outlets may be assigned subject to operation need, business expansion or closure of business. 

 2. Business Result:

  • Accurately projects and controls all P&L line items, responsible for the overall financial and business performance of Secret Recipe in the assigned area outlets.
  • Provide strategic leadership and management capabilities to support business growth of various café outlets within the assigned area outlets.
  • Guide Café Manager and Supervisor on market positioning and work closely with them to plan and strategize sales activities to meet assigned sales and profit targets.
  • Accountable for creating conducive work environment while working shoulder-to-shoulder with Café Manager, Supervisor and the team to create and accomplish business objectives. Control shrinkages, store theft and fraud.
  • Develop business strategies (advertising, promotions, incentive and reward plans, suggestive selling etc.) to improve financial performance.

 3. People Care:

  • Overall responsible for the recruitment, training and development of operation staff in order to optimize customer satisfaction, meet operation standard, drive sales and enhance profits.
  • Monitor all café area outlets as assigned in ensuring adequate manpower resources at all times, performance standards are in place and observed across all café area outlets in order to maximize productivity and sales potential.
  • Ensure people structure and policies in place. Drive employee engagement, ensure long-term growth, sustainability and succession of staffing.
  • Ensure all café area outlets adhere to relevant statutory requirement, Secret Recipe Group policies guideline, Operation practice and HR practices, labor law, security and safety procedures.
  • Plan and support HR initiative in helping Secret Recipe become the Employer of Choice.
  • Coaches and develops Café Manager and Supervisor of the assigned café outlets in building employee’s commitment by demonstrating and reinforcing the leadership behaviors and work standards.
  • Monitor, track and motivate performance of the Café Manager and Supervisor through proper assessments, appraisal review and feedback system.
  • Ensures that training and development of café outlets team are implemented of high quality and timely.
  • Understands and analyses people training requirements and builds/resources training programs to address that.

4. Others:

  • Champions brand vision, mission and demonstrates core values constantly.
  • Representative and voice of operations with other departments.
  • Responsible for aligning, coordinating and communicating cross-functional initiatives.
  • Ensure that new openings/ new products introduction is adequately set up for success.
  • Perform any other additional responsibilities as assigned by Regional Operation Manager.

 Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of working experience in the F&B industry
  • Professional certification or diploma in F&B management
  • Must be able to anticipate all business’s needs, read and analyse profit and loss statements, prepare financial projections / budgets for the months & years ahead for each outlets.
  • Must be a very strong service-oriented person with excellent team leadership and people skills to work at all level of managers
  • Pleasant personality and able to communicate well
  • Willing to work 6 days week

Salary RM5,000 – RM6,000, to commensurate with experience
