Overview
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Assistant Manager, Finance / Finance Analyst to join our dynamic organization. This critical role requires a seasoned professional who can effectively lead and drive our financial strategy while ensuring compliance with internal and external regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and evaluate financial performance of the dealership with regard to long-term operational goals, budgets, and forecasts.
- Ensure implementation of policies, procedures, and processes as deemed appropriate by the senior leadership team and group head office.
- Review and analyze monthly financial results and provide recommendations on variations to budget.
- Develop and maintain monthly operating budget and annual company operating budget.
- Supervise the accounting department to ensure the proper functioning of all systems and databases.
- Prepare and ensure that the general ledger recon file is complete for all balance sheet items and agreed to relevant third-party confirmations.
- Oversee management of the asset register and ensure bi-annual physical verification.
- Enhance and implement financial and accounting systems, processes, tools, and control systems.
- Ensure timeliness and accuracy of financial and management reporting.
- Preparation and communication of monthly, and annual financial results including:
- 1. Monthly finance cost of sales reports
- 2. Monthly debtor collection reports
- 3. Monthly financial reporting
- 4. Cash and working capital management
- 5. Ensure compliance with the account management process and provide guidance relating to the collection process
- 6. Ensure adequate controls are in place to ensure the safe custody of assets.
Qualifications, Experience and Competencies Required
- Minimum of a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5-7 years' experience in finance functions, experience as an auditor is advantageous.
Additional Skills and Abilities
- Experience with any accounting system or similar software applications.
- Knowledge of Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS) and local regulatory laws.
- Tax awareness , company tax, and other statutory payments and reconciliations.
- Audit engagement and assistance to ensure completion of annual audits.
Team Management
- Mentor and develop the dealership accounting team.
