Our client is an engineering and manufacturing company based in Rawang. In line with their expansion plan, they are currently looking to fill the following position
HEAD OF BUSINESS UNIT (based in Rawang, Selangor)
Job Summary
Manage the day-to-day activities including but not limited to design, engineering, standards, contracts and sales (inclusive of marketing) activities including targeting business relating to bumiputra incentivized opportunities and sales.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct market intelligence and research on new business potential and progress within the Oil & Gas industry, other industries, government linked companies and government agencies
- Lead the design and manufacturing of Underground Storage Tanks and Aboveground Storage Tanks to meet UL 58, UL 1746, UL 142 and UL 2085 Standards.
- Be the focal point and Manufacturing Technical Representative (MTR) for UL compliance including maintenance of UL licenses
- Liaise and obtain relevant approvals from federal, states and local authority related to storage tanks and portable containerize system (PCS) especially with JBPM.
- Maintain positive working relationships with clients, sub-contractors and vendors
- Manage and respond to all incoming inquiries for products or services
- Prepare weekly and interim sales report for business partners/principals
- Arranges sales visits / presentations to clients and stakeholders, communicate and report as required to business partners/principals.
- Manage contract issues with customers/vendors/partners/principals.
- Serve as the point of contact for sub-vendors/customers on contractual matters
- Act as guardian of the contract, ensuring timely review and approval/reconciliation of variations
- Provide guidance on contract matters to Sales & Project Managers or other operational staff, including training new staff/engineers and other employees in design, contracting practices and procedures
- Liaise with Admin and Finance Department to ensure adherence to broader finance and risk requirements such as revenue recognition, pricing and discounting policies, costs, margins etc
- Liaise with QA & QC Division related to QC requirements and compliances required by standards, Policy and clients’ requirements.
- Ensure that signed contracts are communicated to all relevant parties to provide contract visibility and awareness, interpretation to support all implementation.
- Monitor project execution to ensure compliance to the contract (milestone, deliverables, invoicing, etc)
- Manage contract closeout, extension or renewal (if required)
- Establish formal relationship with new power-partners (OEM or principals) for products or services
- Develops and implement procedures for contract management and administration
- Keep Top Management updated via weekly and monthly reports (or as and when required) on the progress and planning. (Budget to actual)
- Acquire, develop and/or innovate new skill, knowledge or methodology that would improve business process and productivity.
Requirements
- Candidate must possess at least a Professional Certificate or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Responsible, honest, self-motivated and committed.
- Experience in fabrication manufactuing
- Knowledge of Oil and Gas Manufacturing and Design would be an added advantage.
- Strong verbal and written communication skill in English, Bahasa Malaysia.
- Independent, multi-tasking, able to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines and work as a team player.
- Experience in targeting business relating to bumiputra incentivized opportunities and sales will be an advantage
Salary RM14,000 – RM16,000, to commensurate with experience. The position reports to the Director/Managing Director in Australia.
