Job Description

1) Inventory Management:

Oversee and manage all warehouse operations, including inventory control, shipping, receiving, and order fulfillment.

Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure proper tracking of all incoming and outgoing materials and products.

Implement inventory control strategies to optimize stock levels, reduce waste, and minimize stockouts.

2) Shipping and Receiving:

Coordinate and oversee the shipping and receiving of goods, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

Verify and inspect incoming shipments for quality and quantity, resolving discrepancies as needed.

3) Personnel Management:

Supervise and lead warehouse staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluation.

Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, productivity, and safety.

Must be willing to take ownership of problems and responsibility for resolving them.

4) Warehouse Organization:

Develop and maintain efficient storage and layout systems to maximize space utilization and streamline operations.

Implement proper labelling, tagging, and categorization of goods for easy identification and retrieval.

Schedule and oversee the warehouse team and manage the flow and quality of work to maximize efficiency and minimize overtime.

5) Safety and Compliance:

Enforce safety protocols, guidelines, and best practices to ensure a safe working environment for all warehouse personnel.

Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including OSHA and other industry-specific standards.

6) Equipment and Maintenance:

Manage the maintenance and repair of warehouse equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and conveyor systems.

Ensure that all equipment is in proper working condition to support warehouse operations.

7) Process Improvement:

Continuously evaluate and refine warehouse processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and productivity.

Identify areas for improvement and implement innovative solutions to optimize workflow.

Provide effective leadership and guidance to workers at all times, provide assistance to downlines for solutions when they have difficulties in handling the problem

8) Communication:

Collaborate with other departments, such as procurement, production, and quality control, to ensure seamless coordination of materials and products.

Communicate with suppliers, carriers, and customers to resolve issues related to shipments and deliveries.

9) Reporting:

Generate regular reports on inventory levels, warehouse performance metrics, and operational efficiency.

Provide insights and recommendations to senior management for improving warehouse operations.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience in warehouse management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong leadership and personnel management skills.
  • Knowledge of inventory management software and systems.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to process improvement.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Forklift certification and other relevant equipment certifications are a plus.
